The Office of the County Attorney of the Montgomery County, Mich., provides legal advice and services to departments, agencies, boards and commissions of the county. It is the office of the chief legal officer of the county. The department specializes in the research of legal issues and prepares and presents legislation. The Office of the County Attorney also negotiates and arranges agreements and other documents on behalf of the county. It acquires and conveys title to real property, as well as represents the county in court and before various administrative bodies. The department operates insurance defense litigation, health and human services, finance and procurement, and human resources and appeals divisions. The Office of the County Attorney is located in Rockville, Md.
