Founded in 1960, Mercy High School is a private Catholic secondary school for young women sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, Baltimore Regional Community. It provides college preparatory education based on Christian values. The school has a wide academic curriculum, including arts, computer science, English, mathematics, physical education, religion, world languages, science and social studies. Its library provides a collection of print and non-print resources to meet the educational needs of faculty and students. The school has an athletics department that offers several sports, such as basketball, cheerleading, cross country, track, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, softball and volleyball. Its extracurricular activities include creative writing, dance, music, and visual and theatre arts. The school provides various facilities, including a dance studio, drama studio, choir room and a 700-seat auditorium. Mercy High School is located in Baltimore.
