Dr. Meelu is a triple board certified physician in Medical Oncology (cancer) and Hematology (blood disorders). A graduate of the prestigious University of the Punjab, Pakistan, Dr. Meelu served three years as missionary doctor in West Africa before coming to the United States. He completed a three year internal medicine residency training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine affiliate, Elmhurst Hospital Center in New York, followed by three years of Medical Oncology and Hematology training at Winthrop University Hospital, Long Island New York. Among his various accomplishments, including presentations at CME conferences, research activities, and serving as chairman of the Oncology/Hematology division at Southern Maryland Hospital Center for four years, he is most proud of an invitation since 1997 by ABIM (American Board of Internal Medicine), at various times, to co-author or review for relevance, Hematology/Oncology board examination questions.
