Maryland Children's Alliance (MCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing child abuse in Maryland. Representing all 24 Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) in the state, MCA connects local CACs with the necessary tools to provide comprehensive and trauma-informed services to children who have experienced abuse. Their mission is to promote the well-being of children by supporting the development, growth, and continuation of CACs through advocacy, training, and technical assistance.
MCA and Maryland's CACs work tirelessly to lessen the devastating impact of child abuse and neglect by ensuring that trauma-informed services are accessible to those in need. In 2022 alone, over 5,600 children were served by CACs, and 17 CACs achieved accreditation by the National Children's Alliance. Through their commitment to training and providing resources, MCA plays a vital role in supporting Maryland's child advocacy centers and preventing further abuse.
