The Kentland Volunteer Fire Department in Hyattsville, Md., is comprised of two stations - Kentland Fire Company Station 33 and 46. Station 33 is one of 45 volunteer fire stations that comprise the Prince George's County Fire Department. Kentland Fire Company Station 33 is among the busiest volunteer engine and truck companies in the United States. It is staffed solely by volunteers. Kentland Fire Company Station 33 is located in Landover, Md., just outside the District of Columbia. Its response area includes FedEx Field (home of the NFL's Washington Redskins), the USAir Arena and Six Flags Amusement Park. Major roadways, such as the Capital Beltway (I-495) and Maryland Route 50, bring commuters to and from an area of industrial complexes, garden style apartments and single-family and duplex homes that range from new construction to over 75 years in age.
