Johnson Consulting Engineers, Inc was established in July 2000 as a mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering firm. The firm provides consulting engineering services to architects, developers, institutions, government agencies and contractors. JCEI is also certified with Baltimore City ( MBE ), Maryland Department of Transportation ( MDOT ), Baltimore Co. and Baltimore Office of Boards and Commissions. Johnson Consulting Engineers, Inc ( JCEI ) is a team of professionals that provide engineering design service for new construction and renovation projects which includes churches, educational facilities, housing ( apartment, condominium and dormitory ) health facilities, office buildings; and restaurant and retail facilities. In addition we have experience in projects such as airports, and waste water treatment facilities. Currently, we are on the design team for the University of Pennsylvania Hospital Cancer Research Laboratory in Philadelphia. We have the in-house engineering experience to prepare construction documents plans and specifications required in accordance with the current design standards and code requirements. As a company, JCEI has also worked on several projects under the MDOT, SHA, and DPW contract. However, each discipline has a background of experience with the department as well as former maintenance facility projects. The JCEI team is committed to complete client satisfaction through strong design talent and a thorough understanding of the client's need. By utilizing a personalized approach to each project, and through ongoing communication with each client, we will provide high quality services designed to meet the need of a diversified client base. Johnson Consulting Engineers, Inc provides quality professional engineering design service in completing given assignments. In order to fulfill this commitment, we approach each assignment with a preview of the project's Scope of Work. We review the scope with our Client's Representative to ensure a clear understanding of all project details. If available, the project manager and/or engineer studies and reviews all existing documents, and perform site visits to examine and evaluate the existing conditions and operations. We review and observe all applicable regulations and/or standards for the representative using agency. We document all design decisions and assumptions. We provide our own Designer's Checklist before and after design completion to ensure that design details, drafting details, construction concerns or to address peculiar code issues. The Principal-in-Charge, the Project Manager, and the Designer must each signify their review of the project by signing off. Collectively, they are accountable for the project's design. Our staff which consist of 2 Electrical Engineers, 5 Mechanical Engineers, 2 Designers, 4 CADD Operators, and 2 Administrators is experienced in the design, testing, review, and inspection of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. This includes hands-on experience with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, sprinkler systems, fire and life safety codes, energy management control systems, power and distribution, lighting, lightning protection systems, elevators, handicapped accessibility and code requirements, emergency systems, surveys and audits, electrical utility consumption service, and communication systems. We are experienced in the preparation of design and feasibility studies, special reports, site investigation, utilities analysis, cost certifications; contract documents, including drawings, specification and construction cost estimates, surveys, shop drawings, reviews, construction consultation and inspection; design criteria, budget estimates, design and inspection for repairs, alterations, renovations and modernization, maintenance and/or minor construction projects.
