Interfaith Works seeks to overcome the systemic causes of poverty by advocating and removing regulatory and legislative barriers that unfairly impact fragile, vulnerable people. This includes finding new solutions for working poor families struggling to make ends meet. The efforts focus on homeless services, housing, family services, education and advocacy, and congregation and community support. IW is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization supported by more than 7,000 volunteers, businesses, civic groups, and more than 140 local congregations. Government contracts and grants account for less than 33 percent of its annual expenditures. It is also partners with the United way of the National Capital Area, CFC, Charity Navigator and Network for Good. The office is a couple of blocks from Rockville Town Square, the County Executive Building and Montgomery Courthouse. It is also close to the Rockville Metro Station on the redline.
