Howard County Sheriff's Office is part of the Howard County, Md., and has been providing services since 1851. It provides a range of law enforcement services, including judicial security, summons service, and prisoner transportation. Howard County Sheriff's Office has various divisions that include special emergency, warrant and fugitive, landlord and tenant civil section. Its domestic violence protection department is a more than five-person unit that offers provides services to control domestic violence and offers victim assistance. The Sheriff's Office also provides judicial enforcement and physical security for the Circuit Court and assists other law enforcement agencies in maintaining law and order in Howard County. Additionally, it offers student internships and annual scholarship programs.
