Hampstead Elementary School, founded in 1985, provides educational services to more than 600 students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as math, art, music, science, social studies and physical education. The school offers special education programs to children with special needs. It has an art room that stocks various drawing materials, such as pencils, crayons, pastel colors, chalks, charcoal, markers, pens, ink bottles and scratchboards. The school additionally provides instruction in textile design, paper sculpting, papier-mache method and hand-building techniques in clay. Its media center has a collection of more than 9,600 books, over 25 magazines, nearly 700 videos, professional materials and other reference sources. Hampstead Elementary School is a part of Carroll County Public Schools and is located in Hampstead, Md.
