Georgetown Preparatory School, located in North Bethesda, Md., is an independent Jesuit college preparatory school for boys. It was established in 1789 and enrolls more than 400 students in grades nine through 12. The school provides liberal arts curriculum and religious educational programs. Georgetown Preparatory School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The school s curriculum includes English, mathematics, fine arts, foreign languages, science and social studies. It also offers advanced-placement and honors courses in calculus, biology, chemistry and physics, and SAT preparation classes. Its graduates find placement in various renowned colleges and universities, such as the Harvard University, Mass., and the University of Virginia. Georgetown Preparatory School has a media center that provides curriculum books, reference materials, periodicals, audiovisual aids and computer workstations. It also organizes various extracurricular activities, such as musical concerts, photography, chess and debate competitions, and offers the National Honor Society program. The school additionally provides various sports activities, such as football, soccer, basketball, cross country, baseball and tennis.
