Established in 1943, The Bay District Volunteer Fire Department offers various community-based services. The department has a work force of more than ten employees, including officers and support staff. It maintains a fleet of engines, trucks and pampers. The department has a meeting room that accommodates up to 380 people and hosts projection screen, projection screen, plasma monitors, DVD players and microphones. Its meeting room is available on a rental basis for wedding receptions and other events. The Bay District Volunteer Fire Department organizes various fundraisers, as well as provides online information about fire prevention-related topics.
