Dr. Ahad specializes in minimally invasive surgery and is further trained in robotic-assisted surgery with a special interest in robotic hernia surgery and complex abdominal hernia repair. He is a board-certified general surgeon and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In 2011, Dr. Ahad completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. He has been practicing surgery since 2011. Dr. Ahad graduated from King Edward Medical College in 2000. He went on to do residency in general surgery at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. During residency, he did a research fellowship for one year in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is a member of Americas Hernia Society. Dr. Ahad was born in Saudi Arabia and raised in Pakistan and the United Kingdom before returning to Pakistan for medical school.
