Yellow House is on a quiet road in the heart of Bar Harbor, and offers comfort and style for sophisticated travelers. Our flavorful breakfasts will prepare you for whatever the day may offer, and evening socials on the porch provide a calming rest before dinner on the town, a band concert on the green, or an early retreat to your lush and private guestroom. Your hosts have a lifetime of knowledge about the area, and welcome you to this tastefully updated, yet historic home. The Yellow House was built in 1872 in a different location and moved to the present location sometime before 1885. The Bar Harbor Historical Society believes Yellow House may be the second oldest house in Bar Harbor. The Opdyke family owned it from 1936 to the 1990s, when it was converted from a family residence to a Bed and Breakfast. Pat and Chris Coston recently took over the inn, and while much of Yellow House history has been lost, they do know it is going to stay right where it is.
