The Division of Support Enforcement & Recovery is responsible for the development and implementation of various rules, regulations, policies and procedures that are necessary to assure the economic support of noncustodial parents for their children. In operation since 1975, the division is a part of the Department of Health and Human Services, which is administered by the Maine government. The department s Office of Adult Mental Health Services is a designated State Public Mental Health Authority for adults. It offers the English as a Second Language program for students in kindergarten through grade 12. The Department of Health and Human Services also takes measures for tobacco prevention and control purposes.
