The Maine State Library, also known as MSL, features a range of educational resources and reference materials. The library s reader and information services division offers research classes over the Internet. It operates the Books By Mail program and maintains government documents. The library answers more than 11,000 reference questions annually. It has over 346,000 books and serial volumes. The library also features nearly 700 audio and video materials. The Maine State Library maintains up to 35 computers. It is a member of the Maine Cultural Affairs Council. The Maine State Library is operated by the government of the state of Maine.
