Youth and Family Outreach (YFO) is a non-profit early care and education program based in Portland, ME. Since 1986, YFO has been dedicated to alleviating the effects of poverty by providing a safe and nurturing environment for children aged six weeks to five years, while supporting their families in completing their education and entering the workforce.
Committed to anti-racism, YFO stands in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and actively works towards creating an inclusive and diverse community. Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), YFO offers high-quality care to all families of Greater Portland, with priority given to children from low-income and teen families. Their nutrition program emphasizes the use of whole ingredients, integrating gardening and cooking into their curriculum to educate children about the origins of their food.
