Kennebec Valley Mental Health Center is a private, nonprofit, multiservice mental health and substance abuse treatment agency, serving more than 4,000 people annually in Kennebec and Somerset counties in Maine. The center was established in 1960, and provides prevention, education, treatment and rehabilitation services to children, adults, and families suffering from mental illness, trauma, and emotional and behavioral problems. Its services include substance abuse treatment; outpatient, children and family home-based therapies; family reunification; medication and school-based counseling. It also provides community support, independent and supported housing units and vocational rehabilitation services. Its outpatient program offers counseling services related to various problems, including depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, child maltreatment, grief and loss, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, school adjustment and changes within families. The center has offices in Waterville, Augusta, Skowhegan and Winthrop, Maine.
