Katahdin Cedar Log Homes, located in Oakfield, Maine, manufactures log homes for customers throughout the United States and the world. Located in northern Maine, Katahdin Cedar Log Homes has access to one of the few remaining major stands of northern white cedar in the United States. Approximately 99 percent of Katahdin Cedar Log homes are custom designed. Almost all designs can incorporate a round log support system called a purlin roof. In addition to log homes, it also manufactures cedar fencing, cedar lawn and garden items and a line of cedar bark mulch, all from the excess material not usable in the housing line. The company was founded in 1973 by Foster Gordon, Fred McCormick and Wayne Farrar.
