CLOSED JULY 23 - 27 Friars' Brewhouse Taproom is owned and operated by an actual religious community of friars. The friars brew the beer that they serve. They also bake all of the breads that their sandwiches are made on. Every day they create a homemade soup that pairs perfectly with their assorted sandwiches. They have a nice variety of wine for the wine lovers. There is also a handful of non alcoholic beverages available. The atmosphere is very quiet as an extension of their monastery should be. There is no loud music and no multiple televisions plastered around the walls. It seems to appeal to the more mature clientele who likes elegant dining, good beer and good conversation. On the downside...this is a small taproom. There are only ten tables. Six tables hold only couples. Three tables can hold a party of four. Only one table is big enough for eight patrons. The taproom does not take reservations. It closes EARLY at 6:45. No high chairs. It's a beer pub geared to adult patrons.
