History
Floods Cove was originally owned by Captain Ambrose Simmons. Captain Simmons sailed a two masted schooner from Floods Cove to the Grand Banks to fish for cod. He would return with his holds full and sell the cod locally. In the twilight of his life, he sold the homestead to Dr. Everett Flood who has passed the Captain's homestead down through the generations of the Flood family. Each generation has added to Floods Cove and has operated it as a family vacation destination. The most recent addition is the ocean front sea kayaking campsites that have been created on the 13 acre island. Each campsite is directly on the ocean with beautiful ocean views and has a picnic table, fire ring with an adjustable grill and outhouses. Come join the Floods Cove family with your family and enjoy an old style Maine family vacation.
