The Disability Rights Center helps people with disabilities through education, strategic advocacy and legal intervention. It provides information about rights and service systems; referrals to appropriate services; representation of individuals at meetings and hearings and legal representation of individuals. The center also offers training on rights and advocacy skills. The Disability Rights Center provides the Protection and Advocacy for Developmental Disabilities Program. It also offers Protection and Advocacy of Individual Rights and Protection and Advocacy for Assistive Technology programs. The center has a staff of advocates, secretaries, attorneys and directors. It is a member of MaineShare. The Disability Rights Center is located in Augusta, Maine.
