ATX Acupuncture was born and raised in Austin, Texas, but in the autumn of 2012 the pull back to Alexa's New England roots finally won out and she headed north, back home. Alexa landed in Portland in early 2013 and is excited to be setting up a new life and practice here. Alexa has been working in a clinical setting for almost 10 years, having received her master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas, one of the leading schools of Chinese Medicine in the nation. Alexa is nationally board certified, a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and licensed to practice acupuncture and customized Chinese herbal medicine in Maine. Additionally, Alexa holds the highest certification in the field of Chinese medicine dermatology and is a skilled manual therapist with years of clinical experience using deep myofascial techniques and CranioSacral Therapy to resolve a wide variety of musculoskeletal issues.

At ATX Acupuncture, Alexa specializes in the treatment of stress and pain conditions (chronic and acute) with acupuncture, and of skin disease with Chinese herbal medicine (ex: acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, lichen simplex, fungal/viral/bacterial infections, and many more). She holds the highest certification in the field of Chinese Medicine dermatology, and is currently the only practitioner in New England with this distinction.
