The Webster Parish Sheriff's Office is led by Sheriff Gary Sexton. The WPSO is responsible for collecting ad valorem taxes, carrying out orders of the court, maintaining the jail and enforcing state and local laws. Its personnel consists of 11 deputies in the criminal investigative division, which includes two domestic violence deputies; 20 full-time patrol deputies; four reserve deputies; and two school resource officers. Overall, there is a total of 66 full-time deputies within the patrol, detective and civil divisions. Sixty-two full-time and 11 part-time deputies are employed in the WPSO corrections division. The Webster Parish Sheriff's Office is located inside the Webster Parish Courthouse.
