History
United Engines, originally known as United Tool and Valve Repair Company, was established by James W. Morton in 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana. United Engines Shreveport as well as its four other locations began its over 50-year association with the Detroit Diesel Division of General Motors Corporation. United Engines is one of the oldest Detroit Diesel distributors in the world. United Engines became a charter distributor for what is now the Allison Transmission Corporation. These two companies and their associated product lines form the core of our diversified business.
