History
From its earliest days, Florida Parishes Bank has been the bank of choice for many families and businesses throughout southeast Louisiana. Chartered in June of 1922 by a group of concerned citizens who pooled their money to establish a mutual association to help local families obtain home loans, Florida Parishes Homestead Association was born. We are named after the group of parishes that we originally served. These parishes, unlike the rest of the state, were not purchased during the Louisiana Purchase. These parishes, then a part of West Florida, became known as the Florida Parishes. In the late 1990's, the Board of Directors changed Florida Parishes Homestead Association's name to Florida Parishes Bank, a federally chartered stock savings bank. With this change, Florida Parishes Bank expanded their footprint in the community and was now able to offer business loans, consumer loans and many other banking deposit and loan products in addition to their traditional home loans.
