Erin Romney graduated from University of Utah in 2002 with B.S. Degree in Biology with an emphasis in Marine Biology and Chemistry. While there, she swam competitively with their swim team. It was then she discovered Pilates & Gyrotonic their wonderful practice. She started her training under PhysicalMind Institue based out of New York and San Francisco Gyrotonic. Having worked for a physical therapy practice for many years, her speciality was working with injuries and athletes. After making new Orleans her home she opened Romney Pilates Center in 2005, wanting to create a unique space for people to practice. Moving back from Paris, after hurricane Katrina temporarly displaced her, she came back to New Orleans with a renewed passion for her business and the city. Shortly after returning, she renovated a new larger space. Combining her interest in biology, nature, physical, and emotional well-being she decided to renovate the space to be completely eco-friendly. Not wanting to sacrifice style, she dove into the project, researching eco-friendly products and responsible companies that went along with her "eco-mission." On Christmas Eve of 2006, the new center opened, and has had tremendous success ever since, receiving much press and attention. She has carefully selected her team to join her and represent her business and mission. As the studio continues to grow, more programs are going to be added and enhanced with tireless passion and effort.
