The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board, established by the Supreme Court of Louisiana in 1990, investigates allegations of lawyer misconduct and makes recommendations to the court on disciplinary matters. The disciplinary board is composed of more than 10 members who are appointed by the Supreme Court, as well as the Louisiana State Bar Association. Its adjudicative committee handles appellate matters and reviews findings of fact, conclusions of law and recommendations of hearing committees. The board s adjudicative committee has the power to administer reprimands, issue admonishments and impose probation. Its administrative committee appoints the hearing committees and provides finance, facility and human resource management services to the board. It has over 45 hearing committees that conduct hearings of misconduct and petitions for reinstatement and readmission. The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board has an office in Metairie, La.
