Established in 1927, the Louisiana Association for the Blind is a private nonprofit organization that provides stable employment, vocational training and rehabilitative services to individuals who are blind and visually impaired. It offers employment services according to individual's goals and potential in a variety of job positions that include manufacturing, administration and training. The organization provides a range of rehabilitation services that include Braille instruction and orientation and mobility assessment and training. It is a member of the National Association for Employment of People Who are Blind and affiliated to the National Industries for the Blind. The organization is headquartered in Shreveport, La.
