Lafayette Bar Association ( LBA ) was officially created in 1972 as a professional association for the legal community. The association is dedicated to providing high-quality programs and acts as an important resource to its more than 900 members. The association is funded through membership dues and professional services, such as CLEs and publications. Lafayette Bar Foundation ( LBF ) is a non-profit corporation organized under the auspices of the LBA to provide community services. The Bar Foundation is supported by grants, fundraising events and donations. LBF community service programs include: Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers, the Protective Order Panel, the Homeless Experience Legal Problems ( H.E.L.P. ) Program, Law at the Library, Law Week and the Lafayette Public Law Library ( maintenance only ).
