The New Orleans Dance Collective (NODC) is a non-profit youth organization that combines dance with social work to address the need for cultural activities for at-risk youth in post-Katrina New Orleans. Through group therapy techniques, NODC aims to positively impact behavior and build self-esteem within a diverse community. Founded by Janet Andrews, a native New Orleanian with over 55 years of dance teaching experience and a graduate degree in social work, NODC provides an environment where inner-city at-risk youth can recognize and develop their talents, share skills, and realize their potential as professional dancers.
