Cardiovascular Institute of the South is a group of cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons and thoracic surgeons in the United States. Established in 1983, the medical center specializes in heart and vascular medicine, and in the treatment of peripheral vascular diseases. It offers a comprehensive heart and vascular program that includes specialized medical professionals trained in nuclear cardiology, electrophysiology, prevention services and lipid management. The center also offers programs in interventional cardiovascular procedures and cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. Its physicians serve as clinical investigators for several new and innovative medical devices. Cardiovascular Institute of the South is headquartered in Houma, and has branches in Thibodaux, Raceland, Morgan City, New Iberia, Lafayette, Opelousas, and Eunice, La.
