History
The Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council is a non-profit located in Baton Rouge that promotes the use of e-scrap by recycling and reuse. Donated electronics are refurbished and distributed to schools, non-profits, low income families, and to hurricane-impacted organizations and individuals at a reduced price. In 2005, the CACRC recycled close to 1000 tons of electronics. Giving Back to the Community--Our Programs that You Support! CLF--Computers for LA Families is a program that allows low income families with children to purchase computers configured with software at a very low cost. Non-profits --The CACRC provides computers to non-profits at a reduced cost and assists them in meeting their project goals. Hurricane Relief --since the hurricanes the CACRC has sponsored relief effort by offering thousands of free, refurbished computers to schools, organizations, libraries, churches, and individuals impacted by these storms.
