HistoryHymel's Garage was started in 1937 by Rowley Hymel Sr. in Reserve, La. Above is a picture of Rowley at his original location on La 44 (River Road) near what is now E.I. DuPont. In 1940 Rowley moved his shop to La 44 and West 2nd street in Reserve. Six years later his shop burned down and he moved his business to Laplace near US 51 and US 61. To accommodate the expanding business Rowley opened the current location at 501 East Airline Highway in 1968. In 1979 Hymel's Garage was renamed to Hymel's Auto Parts and Service, Inc. Hymel's is now owned by two of Rowley's children, Jimmy and Jean.
