About Era-Leader The Era-Leader was founded in 1910. It is one of the oldest businesses in Washington Parish. It serves most of western Washington Parish, which is located in far southeastern Louisiana north of Lake Pontchartrain. It is owned by Emmerich Newspapers Inc, which publishes community newspapers in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. The Era-Leader is published weekly.
