Montezuma Land Conservancy (MLC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to land conservation in Southwest Colorado. They go beyond traditional land trust work by actively engaging the community and striving to bring the benefits of land conservation to as many people as possible. Through their conservation stewardship, community programs, and cross-cultural programs, MLC works to protect important landscapes and connect people to the land, ensuring its preservation for future generations. MLC recently celebrated their 25th anniversary and continues to make significant strides in land conservation. They have successfully closed on their newest conservation easement, the Hensley Conservation Easement, which encompasses 506 acres of rolling sagebrush, pinon, and juniper hills bordering Mesa Verde National Park. Additionally, MLC received a generous grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) to support their work with the Montezuma Inspire Coalition (MIC) in engaging youth and promoting outdoor activities.
