The Kentucky Department of Transportation works to provide an environmentally sound, multimodal transportation system, and human and financial resources for individuals. The department supports a state bicycle and pedestrian program that promotes and facilitates the increased use of nonmotorized modes of transportation and develops facilities for pedestrians and bicyclists.
