The Montgomery County Solid Waste District is a department of the Montgomery County s public works department. In addition to providing waste disposal services, the district provides a variety of recycling, recovery, reuse, waste reduction and litter prevention programs for the community, schools and businesses. It organizes a recycled sculpture contest for school students and includes creating an abstract or realistic sculpture using recyclable materials. Additionally, the Montgomery County Solid Waste District operates a free electronics recycling program for businesses.
