The name Rafferty's was derived from the internal architecture of the building and its visible atrium rafters. Since the name Rafters was already used by another restaurant, additional letters were used, and thus the name Rafferty's Restaurant & Bar was established. Rafferty's is an employee-owned company located in the Southeastern United States. Its menu items include battered-fried mushrooms, fried cheese, catfish and New York strip sandwiches, chicken pasta alfredo, rib-eye steak, salads, barbecue and desserts. Rafferty s also offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The first Rafferty's was opened in Bowling Green, Ky., in 1981. Rafferty's Restaurant & Bar has since opened more than 20 locations in Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina, including a location in Florence, Ky.
