The Owensboro Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program (OEJATC) is a comprehensive electrical construction training program located in Owensboro, KY. With a focus on providing the necessary skills and knowledge required for a successful electrical career, the program offers five years of classroom instruction and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training. From wiring houses to working on the largest power plants, apprentices gain hands-on experience and receive classroom education two nights per week at the training facility.
Applicants who meet the minimum requirements of being at least 17 years old, having a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and the ability to pass a drug screen, have the opportunity to earn a living while receiving yearly pay raises throughout the program. Upon completion, apprentices obtain an associate degree from KCTCS in Electrical Technology, various certifications, extra training, and the possibility of obtaining a Kentucky State Electrical License.
