Maria F. Nota, M.D., is a pediatrician with Norton Children’s Medical Group – Germantown, and also serves as a community medical director for the Institute for Health Equity, a Part of Norton Healthcare. Community medical directors provide direct outreach and participate in neighborhood educational health programs to address health and racial inequalities in underserved communities. Originally from Argentina, Dr. Nota earned her medical degree from the National University of Tucumán School of Medicine, Argentina, and completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Nota is fluent in English and Spanish. Her special interests include immigrant children’s health, care of children with special needs, and pediatric immunizations. She collaborates with local community-based organizations and Spanish media in programs that address the needs of the Hispanic community. Dr. Nota is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and holds membership in the National Hispanic Medical Association, under which she completed a leadership fellowship. She also serves on the board of the Louisville Metro Board of Health and co-chairs its immunization advisory committee, and co-chairs the Kentucky chapter of the AAP’s Immigrant Child Health Task Force.
