The Covington Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency services for the city of Covington, Ky. Its services include fire prevention, emergency preparedness, public safety education, emergency medical services, and inspections and enforcement of adopted fire codes. It has five fire stations and its equipment consist of trucks, front line pumpers, tankers, ambulances, grass and light-rescue rigs, heavy-rescue equipment and various utility vehicles. It has employed more than 110 firefighters. The city of Covington is located in northern Kentucky and has a population of more than 45,000 residents.
