The Water Pollution Control Division is a part of the Public Works Department, which is governed by the City of Topeka in Kansas. The division is involved in the collection, treatment and disposal of the city s wastewater and stormwater. It operates and maintains wastewater treatment plants with more than 75 pump stations and over 13,000 manholes. The Water Pollution Control Division s wastewater treatment plants can treat nearly 28 million gallons of wastewater daily. The division is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of more than 15,000 storm drains, over 200 miles of storm sewers, and nearly 35 miles of channels and river levees.
