The Salina Board of Education is a part of Salina Public Schools. It is comprised of more than five members, including the president and vice-president who are elected by the voters of the school district. The organization conducts weekly meetings for developing strategies to conduct policy reviews and advocate for fair and adequate school finance. The Salina Board of Education works to increase transparency in schools, as well as evaluates informational reports. It also monitors the academic progress of the school district. The organization sponsors several honor, including the You Make A Difference Award, Spotlight, Superintendent's Excellence Award and Golden Achievement Award. In addition, the Salina Board of Education offers online summaries of its various meetings. Salina Public Schools is located in Salina, Kan., and operates several elementary, middle and high schools.
