As public accountants, we have a commitment to providing competent tax, accounting, and other related financial services to the general public. As an organization, our commitment to the membership is to provide the means to carry out this goal through quality education programs, membership services and a network of shared experiences among members. The Public Accountants Association of Kansas ( P.A.A.K. ) was founded in 1948 for the purpose of preserving and perpetuating public accounting as a profession in Kansas. As P.A.A.K. has grown and matured, the Association has expanded into other areas including, but not limited to, providing quality education opportunities to people in the accounting and tax professions and advising federal, state and local units of governments of the effects of proposed legislation.Membership of the Public Accountants Association of Kansas is available to any person whose principal source of earned income is derived from the practice of public accounting, or is an employee of a firm engaged in the practice of public accounting.Associate Membership is available to those who work in or around the profession, but whose principle source of income is not from public accounting.Student Membership is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about the profession, gain an understanding of career opportunities in public accounting and network with practicing professionals who can help them and may need their services.
