History
Prairie Bank of Kansas is an independently owned Kansas bank, providing banking products and services since 1886. Prairie Bank was originally organized under a National charter in Stafford, KS and was named Farmers National Bank. On January 31, 1993, the bank purchased the location in Buhler, KS, and in October 1997, purchased the Inman location. In 2009 the Hutchinson branch was built on East 30th and opened in August of that year. Still under the same ownership, in 2013 the bank switched to a State Banking charter and updated its name to Prairie Bank of Kansas. Prairie Bank now operates under a State Banking charter and still provides for a Board of Directors that is elected during the Annual Stockholders Meeting. Senior management reviews and evaluates all significant issues prior to submission to the Board of Directors for approval.
