Started in 1979, Living Independently in Northwest Kansas, also known as LINK, caters to the needs of individuals with disabilities. It is a nonprofit corporation that serves the residents of western Kansas through more than five office locations. The corporation promotes community integration and offers advocacy services. LINK maintains a resource library that houses a range of educational materials. In addition, it provides in-home training for the development of cooking, health maintenance, budgeting, and home and time management skills. The corporation offers peer support and referral solutions. LINK arranges for medical equipment and provides volunteer opportunities. It also offers case management, career consultation and transcribing services.
