History
Dr. Hambleton is a native of Lawrence, Kansas. He graduated from KU in 1974, UMKC School of Dentistry in 1978, and entered the United States Air Force that year as a General Dentist. He practiced general dentistry for 12 years before he entered a post-graduate program in Periodontics through the USAF. The program included training at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, along with a masters degree program at the University of Texas Health Science San Antonio. Dr. Hambleton retired from the USAF after having obtained the rank of Colonel. He established a private practice back in his home town in 1997.
Specialties
Treatment of oral tissues, including gums, bone and dental implants. This includes the treatment of gingivitis, periodontal disease, recession, bone loss, and missing teeth. The treatments include oral hygiene instructions, cleanings, scaling and root planing, gingival soft tissue grafting, bone surgery including crown lengthening, pocket reduction surgery, bone grafting, laser surgery, and tooth removal. Dental implant treatments include replacement of single, multiple or all teeth. Nobel Biocare is the primary implant system utilized. The Millenium Periolase is the primary dental laser utilized. Dr. Hambleton is certified in the LANAP procedure.
