The Council for Learning Disabilities (CLD) is an international organization dedicated to advocating for, educating, and collaborating with individuals with learning disabilities. They provide support to educators, advocates, parents, and individuals with LD through their state chapters, conferences, and publications such as Learning Disability Quarterly, Intervention in School and Clinic, and LD Forum. CLD also recognizes outstanding teachers, researchers, and champions of individuals with LD through their annual awards.
With direct access to leaders in the LD field, CLD members have the opportunity to give and receive peer support, as well as have their voices heard on critical issues that shape LD policy and reform. The organization hosts an annual conference and offers various professional development opportunities, including a Leadership Academy and a Leadership Institute. Through their advocacy efforts, CLD works towards accelerating instruction and meeting the needs of students with learning disabilities.
