The Chisholm Life Skills Center is a vocational and life skills training institute for disabled students. It emphasizes the development of basic work skills and habits, community survival, functional academic and vocational skills and social behaviors. The school s curriculum includes life skills and vocational training through classes and job experience. Students of the school work at community-based job sites and perform packing, assembly and mailing tasks. Founded in 1949, the Chisholm Life Skills Center organizes several activities that include all-school dances, monthly assemblies and periodic field trips. The center is a part of Wichita Public Schools and is located in Wichita, Kan.
