Established in 1973, the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services provides health and medical care programs for adults and children throughout Kansas. It offers adult protective services, adoption assistance, child care, child support enforcement, commodity food distribution and community residential care programs. The department additionally provides assistance for individuals suffering from developmental disabilities and mental illnesses. It also offers treatment services for individuals and their families in cases related to substance abuse, domestic violence, and drug and alcohol addictions. The department offers information on eligibility group s, care requirements, case management, financial eligibility rules, services, quality assurance and waiver facts. The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services has partnerships with more than 70 private health care providers that offer detoxification, outpatient, residential and clinical care services.
